The framework of Maple View is based on our years of hands-on experience. We know there are two key elements necessary for a quality dementia program: dedicated, highly trained staff members and a meaningful activity program. You can rest assured that your loved one will receive both at Maple View.
Compassionate caregivers
Our memory care staff members are certified in Montessori-Based Dementia Programming and highly trained to creatively manage the challenges of memory loss. Our caregivers are dedicated to providing a supportive environment where your loved one will receive the care, stimulation and socialization he/she needs.
Maple View is also here for our residents' family members, offering on-going support. We also recognize the need for regular updates and place a high priority on communication with family members and health care providers.
Innovative Programming
Maple View is the region's first memory care facility to incorporate Montessori-Based Dementia Programming® (MBDP), an innovative method of working with older adults living with cognitive and/or physical impairments.
Based on the method and philosophy of famed educator Maria Montessori, the goal of MBDP is to engage residents in activities that are stimulating, and challenging, yet failure-free.
MBDP is a rehabilitative approach to the treatment of dementia. Activities are provided as a means to enhance the skills required to perform basic tasks such as self-feeding, dressing, bathing and actually lead to increased independence and self-care. For example, scooping golf balls out of a bowl of rice helps maintain the motion of self-feeding and stringing beads improves motor skills, which helps our residents continue to dress themselves.
